The wife of the Senior Divisional Officer of Kupe Muanenguba, Nguia Miriam, has initiated a visit to elderly persons in Bangem as part of celebration marking the 41st edition of the International Women’s Day.

Nguia Miriam was speaking on February 27, 2026, during the second preparatory meeting of the Women’s Day celebration in Bangem.

She said besides socio-cultural and sports activities, it will be very symbolic for women to extend love to these elderly persons by cleaning their homes, donate food stuff, toiletries, and clothes. “This will be a symbolic gesture of love and warmth from the women,” she said.

Also, the first lady of the division proposed the forming of an association of women leaders in Bangem to oversee women affairs, comprising of presidents of women groups and associations in Kupe Muanenguba.

Earlier, the Senior Divisional Officer, Nguia Beina Theophile urged women to participate massively in all activities, and called on committee heads to work together for a successful celebration.

“It is a big feast for women. Women should wear their kaba, eat, drink, and dance very well,” he said, encouraging men to support their wives.

The SDO announced that male administrators in Bangem must attend the ceremony with their wives.
Divisional Delegate of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Ngwene Cecilia Mbolle urged women to coordinate their efforts and showcase their best performance.

Director of Women’s Empowerment and the Family Center, Mwene Agnes Senge also encouraged women to exhibit valuable goods to demonstrate the power of Bangem women.
