The Project for the Acceleration of Digital Transformation of Cameroon (PATNUC) has launched a digital agriculture initiative in Bangem, encouraging local farmers to embrace technology and improve their productivity.

The organization visited the area to sensitize and register farmers, helping them integrate into the digital world through the PATNUC mobile application on February 28, 2026.

During the meeting, farmers learned how to download the app, create accounts, and register their crops and livestock.

Speaking at the meeting, local service provider, Banye Ethel emphasized that the project’s main objective is to include local people without access to communication or internet in digital agriculture.

She said eight villages have been selected for the initiative, including Bangem, Ndibsi, Mbat, Ekambeng, Njom, Nkack, and Muanenguba.

Also, Vuchas Henry Aliembom a local service provider and the IT personnel of PATNUC said, they are out to encourage people to learn how to use mobile phones to register and be included in projects.

He said the project aims to address farmers’ challenges, such as accessing farm inputs like fertilizers and production materials. “Farmers will contribute 50% of the needed funds, while PATNUC complements with the remaining 50%. To ensure transparency, farmers will open bank accounts with credit unions and microfinance associations, serving as the official channel for depositing their contributions.” Aliembom added.

EM Cameroon distributors’ branch manager, Elad Elumbat Roland, highlighted their mission to improve living standards through organic farming and healthy environment using EM technology.

The Sub-delegate of Agriculture, Bangem, Njabe Bridget, appreciated the project’s efforts, stating it will increase productivity and living standards.

Farmers like Ebongole Theodore Mwene and Dione Nkumbe expressed gratitude, believing the project will boost production and improve living standards.

The PATNUC team encouraged farmers to take the registration process seriously, assuring continuous support.
