The Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Minister Elung Paul Che has donated foodstuff to Muslim Community in Bangem, as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

A consignment of twelve bags of flour, six cartoons of soap, five pallets of juice, ten bags of salt, ten bags of rice, ten cartons of tomatoes, twelve cartons of sugar, ten cartons of groundnut oil, and twenty pallets of water were handed to the celebrants on March 20, 2026.

The items were distributed by the Minister’s representative, Prisco Ejolle, at the ceremonial ground of the Inclusive Government Practicing School Field, Bangem, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

While handing the items, Ejolle said the Minister’s gesture was aimed at supporting the Muslim community during the festive period. “We encourage the Muslim community to remain law-abiding, peaceful, and prayerful,” Ejolle said, assuring them of the Minister’s continuous support.

Receiving the items, the Divisional Officer of Bangem Sub Division, Dairou Saly, appreciated the Minister’s act of kindness, which he said has touched their hearts.

He urged Muslims to uphold their faith and promote unity within the community.

“The message of peace preached by the Imam should be carried beyond this prayer ground,” Dairou Saly emphasized, expressing gratitude to the donor for the generous support.

Imam Illiassou Ousmanou highlighted the spiritual significance of Ramadan, as a period of purification and prayer, calling on Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith and promote peace and social cohesion in Cameroon.

Yayah Badem, President of the Muslim Community in Bangem, thanked Minister Elung Paul for his consistent generosity, and encouraged members to continue fostering peace and unity among themselves.

Other Muslim recipients saluted the Minister’s thoughtful donation, which they said has brought joy and relief to many families.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Mayor of Bangem Council, Ekungue Kang Christopher and the forces of law and order.

The Eid al-Fitr celebration in Bangem ended on a note of gratitude, unity, and renewed commitment to unity, peace, and love by the Muslims beyond the festive period.
