<\/p>\nCouncilors of Bangem Council, Kupe Muanenguba Division have adopted the 2025 Administrative, Management and Stores Accounts with a revenue balance of sixty-five million, one hundred and thirty-one thousand, seven hundred and thirty-nine (65.131.739) FCFA.<\/p>\n
This took place during the First Ordinary session held at the Council Chambers on April 28, 2026.<\/p>\n

In his presentation, the Secretary of the Finance Committee, Nkwelle Peter Atabe said out of the one billion one hundred and forty million (1.140.000.000) FCFA budgeted for 2025, their recurrent revenue stood at 173.741.064 FCFA, while investment revenue was 407.755.806. He added that recurrent expenditure stood at 105.900.864, while investment expenditure recorded 410.464.267FCFA. This leaves a revenue balance of 65,131,739 FCFA, which will be carried forward to the 2026 accounts, Atabe said.<\/p>\n
In his address, Bangem Mayor Ekungwe Kang Christopher disclosed that the council recovered 581,496,870 FCFA in 2025, representing a budget realization rate of 51.8%.<\/p>\n

Despite challenges, the council recorded achievements that have positively impacted the population, the Mayor said.<\/p>\n
He cited the supply of didactic materials to schools to improve education quality, furnishing of the Bangem Council playground to promote youth engagement, rehabilitation of the Ekanjoh-Bajoh gravity water supply system to improve access to potable water, and construction of 15 stores at the Bangem Main Market to boost commercial activity.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, the Senior Divisional Officer of Kupe Muanenguba, Nguia Beina Theophile reminded councilors on their responsibility to sensitize the population on resolutions taken at council sessions. He said this will keep the people informed and facilitate the implementation local development.<\/p>\n
He said based on the budgetary realization of 51.8%, it shows that much still needs to be done.<\/p>\n

The SDO frowned at the altitude of some council workers who collect money and put in their private pocket. He said by stealing council money, they are stealing their own salary.<\/p>\n
Nguia announced that in the days ahead, the administration will go on the field to check irregularities of public contracts within the municipality and sanctions will be meted on all those who\u00a0 want to water down the development initiative of the Head of State.<\/p>\n

Committee Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n During the presentation of committee reports, councilors questioned why the Bangem water rehabilitation project is not yet complete. They also frowned at some abandoned council projects, including the Nkack-Nninong Community Hall.
