The Senior Divisional Officer of Kupe Muanenguba, Nguia Beina Theophile has cancelled Prefectoral Order No 368/PO/G.42/8/S.3/PS of 16th July 2024, bearing on the recognition of Njonmesok village (Mile 20) as a third (3rd) Class Chiefdom in Tombel Sub Division, Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region.

This is contained in Prefectoral Order No 015/PO/G.42/8/S.3/PS, signed by Nguia on February 26, 2026.

In Article I of  the letter, the SDO disclosed that the Prefectoral Order is cancelled because of non-reminder of Letter No 000828/L/MINAT/SG/DOT/SDCT/SCT3/BCT3/NEDN of 14th March 2024 from the Minister of Territorial Administration, Yaounde.

The Cancelled Prefectoral Order

Also, the administrative boss pointed, the Prefectoral Order is canceled because the boundary limits of the said Njonmesok village (Mile 20) are not demarcated.

He added that the cancellation is also as a result of contestation and uprising of the population of Peng village.

Nguia also stated that the cancellation is based on fake information about the existence of Njonmesok village (Mile 20).

In the Article II of the Order, the SDO stated that any person or group of persons brandishing such an invalid order and seeking to enforce its provision shall be pursued in accordance with the laws in force.

Nguia charged the Divisional Officer of Tombel, heads of forces of law and order, Tombel in their different capacities with the implementation of the present Order.
