Government Secondary School, GSS Muebah-Nninong, Bangem Subdivision, Kupe Muanenguba, has qualified the South West Region for the men’s football finals at the National FENASSCO League A games ongoing in Bafoussam, West Region.
The Muebah-Nninong boys picked their qualification ticket on April 23, 2026, after defeating host West Region in the semi-finals.

At a Technical Committee Meeting held on April 22, the South West Region placed first in the General Classification after the group stage. In the semi-finals, South West defeated West Region while Littoral Region edged North West Region.
The men’s football final is programmed for Saturday, April 26, between South West’s GSS Muebah-Nninong and Littoral Region. The classification match for third place will see West Region take on North West Region on Friday, April 25.

It should be noted that in the group stage, South West won its first match against Far North Region 1–0, drew 1–1 with Centre Region in the second match, lost 0–1 to South Region in the third, and defeated North West Region 2–0 in the fourth. They qualified for the semi-finals with seven points.

It should be noted that on April 7, 2026 at the South West Regional finals, the team qualified to represent South West at the National FENASSCO A, after defeating Government High School, GHS Mamfe, in penalty shootouts, 5-4.
Reacting after the semi-final victory, the Divisional Delegate of Sports and Physical Education for Kupe Muanenguba, Nzuonkwelle Lovert, said: “This is a proud moment for Kupe Muanenguba. GSS Muebah-Nninong has carried the flag of our division and South West with discipline and talent. Qualifying for the FENASSCO League A finals in Bafoussam shows that grassroots sports in Bangem Subdivision is alive. We salute the players, coaches, and school authorities. The entire region is behind them — bring the trophy home.”

Meanwhile, the Divisional Delegate of Secondary Education for Kupe Muanenguba, Njikang Peter Mejame, said: “On behalf of the secondary education family, I congratulate GSS Muebah-Nninong for reaching the national finals. This victory proves that academics and sports go hand in hand. It will inspire other students across Kupe Muanenguba to excel both in class and on the field. We thank the principal and games master for their mentorship.”

The President of Nninong Women and Daughters Association, NIWODA, Epole Vivian, said: “We, the women and daughters of Nninong, are overjoyed. Our children have made us proud in Bafoussam. This team has put Nninong and Bangem on the national map. We are mobilizing to support them in the finals with prayers, moral support, and everything they need. Go GSS Muebah, go Nninong!”
